Henrietta and her chicks keep Sarvo (her husband - the Rooster!) as busy as can be. If Henrietta isn't laying eggs for Brad (that's the farmer they live with) or chasing the chicks (Nooley, Gashew and Mumbles), then she is exercising to get her body back in shape (from when the children were born). There is no free time for this metal hen or her little metal chickens. Henrietta stands 12 inches high x 13 1/2 inches long and 6 1/2 inches deep. Now the chicks are a different story. Nooley and Gashew are listening to their mom with rapt attention. She is explaining how they need to watch for predators and therefore they shouldn't talk to strangers. They are both about the same size and each stand 4" high x 2 1/2" long and 2 1/2" deep. Mumbles isn't listening to his mother, he is mad at her because she told him to eat his seed slower. He is just staring at the ground mumbling to himself, Mumbles stands 3" high x 4" long x 2 1/2" wide. All 4 of them are a dark brown with a protective high gloss finish. They are handwelded in Africa of recycled 55 gallon steel drums by welders and their assistants who are provided with schooling, training, housing, food, and medical benefits. The metal drums are first burnt in order to remove any inner residue and outer color. They are then cut, flattened, and marked with the design prior to being cut. Each assistant then pounds the design into the form before handing it to the welder to be completed. Once the welder has completed the metal bird or metal animal, they are checked over by the welder, coated with 2 coats of protective polyurethane and tagged with the welder's name. Even though each bird or animal has a pattern, no 2 birds or animals are identical because each is hand made allowing for the character of the assistant and welder to be included in each striking metal piece. These are long lasting steel birds that add elegance to any garden. You don't need to have a farmyard for this hen and her chicks. In fact, she was hoping to move to new digs with a slightly higher income look. Why not choose the family next door yourself this time and bring them home today.
