Does your deck sit high above the ground below? Have you seen pictures of the houses with plants hanging down from the deck rails and wonder how they did it? You can use our black metal deck rail hanger which slides onto the top edge of your deck rail and reaches out 17 1/2" above the ground. The part of the hanger that slides over the rail is designed to work with railings up to 2" thick, if yours is a standard 1 1/2" thick it will work but it will not lay flush, see the larger picture with the hanging planter. The hanger measures 21 1/2" total with a thickness of 1/4". Just make sure the hanger on your planter plus the planter isn't longer than the space between the ground and your deck rail or your pot will be sitting on the ground rather than hanging.
