Merlin slowly climbs up out of the mine, another day of mining coal is done. The pick over his shoulder feels heavy and he can hardly make his legs climb up the ladder. He is tired after a long day but he is looking forward to going bowling with his wife Melinda later that evening. Merlin bowls for the Pinkerton Coal Company who had recently wanted to institute a no facial hair policy (obviously management had never been down in a mine). The miners united and fought that rule and won. Merlin knew what would have happened, he had once tried shaving off his beard but then his chin got so cold down in the mine that he had minor frostbite (it wasn't pretty). Now he just grows his beard long. Melinda is happy because she prefers it that way. She says it goes well with his royal blue mining outfit. Merlin is hand crafted in the USA (Texas) and is made of earthenware that can be used indoors or outdoors. He climbs 11" High x 9" Wide x 8" Deep. Merlin will mine coal for you to help with your heating bill if you give him a chance or dig any other holes you need..
