This De-Icer is designed to float in your pond and is thermostatically controlled with an automatic shut-off. The styrofoam float is completely enclosed within a rugged plastic housing. The 15 foot cord exits from the top of the unit. This gives the heater added stability, and it is less likely to tip in the pond. It is 1500 watts and uses 120 volts (which is a standard outlet). If you have fish in your pond and want to help them through the winter, this de-icer may be just what you are looking for. There is also a guard designed for use with plastic/plastic liner ponds to keep the unit from warming the plastic. The Floating De-Icer Guard will protect your ponds liner.
